[email protected]Join Cherry and Amanda for a club classic walk to The Terraces in the Palm Creek and St Margaret's Creek system, Bowling Green Bay National Park. This area has long been one of the Townsville Bushwalking Club's favourite local adventure walks, with spectacular granite creek scenery, waterfalls, cascades, pools, cliffs, ledges, and rugged off-track terrain.
The walk starts from private property, with no public access. Access details are only provided to registered participants. Please do not attempt to access this area independently.
The standard Terraces walk begins on track before quickly becoming off-track. The route follows creek systems and rough terrain, with sustained rock hopping, boulder scrambling, rockface traverses, scrub, vines, loose surfaces, uneven footing, slippery rocks, and steep climbs. Depending on conditions and group progress, the walk may include The Terraces, Ultima Falls, Garden Wall, High Camp, and a stop at the Rockslides for a swim on the way out.
This is a full-day walk for adventurous bushwalkers who are confident moving through rough, off-track terrain. Participants should be comfortable scrambling beside waterfalls, walking on slippery rocks, using hand and foot holds on steeper sections, and travelling through remote creek country where the route may change depending on conditions.
The final route and turnaround point may be adjusted by the walk leaders depending on weather, water levels, rock conditions, group progress, and available daylight.
