About this event

This walk will see us clambering beside about 10 – 15 waterfalls, depending on how far we get. We start from Private Property and make our way onto a powerline easement over very level country then we hit the national park. We travel along Palm Creek and then descend into the creek at the Princess Pool. Our journey then goes up one of the tributaries of Palm Creek (we can see it from the highway on our drive there). We do have to climb around several waterfalls (clambering up beside them). There is some exposure on some ascents but there are sufficient hand and foot holds to get us up and down safely.

We normally return the way we came, but taking a detour up to the rock slides for afternoon tea. Then it is back the way we came to our starting point. This walk does have its challenges, but it is not a particularly difficult walk. The clambering is not technical climbing, but you do have to gain some height in this manner.
