30th to 31st - Hughenden Explore
Join us for an unforgettable remote adventure out near Hughenden, where we’ll explore a spectacular and rarely visited locations. This trip will combine hiking, caving, and canyoning through a stunning but fragile landscape. Expect cool nights (possibly below 10°C) and warmish days (25°C+), rugged off-track terrain, and plenty of time immersed in nature. This is a remote, self-sufficient trip — you’ll need to bring all your own food, water, and camping gear, and be prepared for minimal facilities, no mobile reception, and an environment where safety, preparation, and Leave No Trace principles are essential.
It’s roughly a 5+ hour drive from Townsville to the trailhead, with the final stretch on dirt roads. A high-clearance 4WD is recommended but not essential. We’ll be tackling Naga, one of the more accessible places in the area, and camping in a beautiful remote setting.
