Who is leading: Luen Warneke
Difficulty: Grade 4
Distance: ~5km circuit
Description:
This walk is accessed via private property .
Our adventure will take us through the stunning Mingela State Forest, covering an area of 7,800 hectares and featuring four named mountains. We will trek towards our primary goal, Mount Flagstone, standing tall at 591 meters.
Along the way, you'll be treated to picturesque views of Bowling Green Bay National Park, Pinnacles National Park, Ross River Dam, and Mount Stuart Range. Capture these breathtaking vistas with your camera as we navigate the open grasslands and ridgelines.
As we explore this untamed landscape, we will also pass by seasonal creeks, which may flow after heavy rains. Please note that there are no marked tracks within Mingela State Forest, so we will rely on our experienced guides to lead the way.
Tips:
The best time to hike this area is during the cooler months, as summer can be extremely hot and humid.
Access to Mingela State Forest may be limited due to surrounding private properties. Our guides will ensure we traverse authorized routes only.
During our bushwalk, we will be traversing uneven ground and terrain, which include steep inclines, declines, and loose surfaces. To minimise the risk of falls and injuries, please wear appropriate footwear with good traction, such as hiking boots or trail shoes.
Additionally, our experienced guides will provide instructions on how to navigate challenging areas safely.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore the beautiful Mingela State Forest and conquer Mount Flagstone with fellow bushwalking enthusiasts! Secure your spot today and prepare for an unforgettable adventure.
