Riders need to be self-sufficient and prepared for remote conditions.
You will need to carry all of your water for the day, although creek resupply may be possible along the way if you are carrying a reliable method to treat water.
Depending on your preference, you can either carry your camping gear on the bike or arrange for it to go in with those travelling out by car and camping.
This trip is suited to people with a good level of fitness, confidence riding longer distances, and the ability to manage themselves and their gear in warm North Queensland conditions. Expect a rewarding mix of gravel roads, remote scenery, camping, and a good dose of adventure.
Bring:
A well-maintained bike suitable for long-distance riding
Helmet
Bikepacking or camping gear
Plenty of water capacity
Water treatment method
Food and snacks
Repair kit and spare tube
High-vis clothing
Front and rear lights
Sun protection
trongly recommended for this stretch.
