[email protected]Join us for a scenic and adventurous day in Tully Gorge National Park, combining a bushwalk with a technical descent of Cannabullen Falls. We will walk in via the track, make our way to the falls, then abseil down before walking back out.
The approach is mostly on track, but sections may be overgrown, and there will also be some off-track travel near the falls. Expect a mix of straightforward walking, uneven ground, some rougher sections, and technical canyon-style movement around the waterfall area.
This is not a beginner abseil. Participants must be comfortable on steep terrain and have prior abseiling/rappelling experience. You will need to be confident following technical instructions, wearing a harness and helmet for extended periods, and moving safely around cliffs, wet rock, and slippery surfaces.
The day involves a solid return walk of about 14 km, plus the added time and effort of the abseil. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
Please bring appropriate gear for a full day outdoors, including sturdy footwear with good grip, water, food, and any personal technical gear if advised by the leaders. Final meeting details, start time, and gear requirements will be provided to those who RSVP.
Important: This trip is weather-dependent. Water levels and conditions at the falls will determine whether the abseil goes ahead.
