This is a short but serious canyoning adventure in Girringun National Park, near Wallaman Falls. Lookout Creek Canyon features beautiful aqua pools, granite slabs, small waterfalls, scrambling, swimming, and a steep, difficult access and exit. Although the canyon itself is relatively compact, it is a technical trip that requires confidence in rough terrain and previous canyoning experience.

This is not a beginner trip. You must have prior canyoning, abseiling/rappelling, bushwalking, and scrambling experience, and be comfortable with exposure, slippery rock, steep off-track terrain, and moving efficiently as part of a group in a canyon environment. The exit is particularly steep and demanding, as we are taking the alternate exit due to the high flow at the moment.

The plan is to start at around 10:30 am, after the Wallaman Escarpment Walk, which is taking place earlier that day. This trip is suited to experienced members who want to back up for a second adventure, or who are happy to join just for the canyon.

Please come prepared with appropriate canyoning gear, sturdy footwear with good grip (i.e., canyoning boots), food, water, headlamp, and everything needed for a full afternoon in a remote and challenging environment. Final details, gear requirements, and meeting arrangements will be provided to those who RSVP.

Important: Weather and water levels will determine whether the trip goes ahead. The leader's decision on the day is final.
