Embark on a thrilling day hike through the lush landscapes of Wooroonooran National Park, following a path that will lead us to a remote and breathtaking waterfall located near the North Johnstone River. This routeis not for the faint-hearted but promises an unforgettable experience for those who join us.

Our adventure begins at 9:30 am, where we will meet and set off into the tropical rainforest. The journey commences with a 600m descent to the bank of the North Johnstone River. The path is steep and can be challenging, but the view upon reaching the river is reward enough.

Once down by the riverside, we will navigate a 1km walk along the riverbanks. This section of the journey allows us to immerse ourselves in the rich biodiversity of the park, witness the river's powerful flow, and enjoy the serene ambiance of the surrounding nature.

Our final stretch involves crossing the North Johnstone River and undertaking a 200m walk up a tributary leading to our destination: a remote waterfall, a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the park. The waterfall's tranquil beauty and the surrounding pristine nature will leave you in awe.

After spending some time exploring and relaxing, we will return via the same route.

Prerequisites:

Participants should be in good physical condition, able to handle steep inclines, river crossings, and potential slippery surfaces.

Risk Assessment:

Steep terrain: The initial 600m descent into the river and final 200m ascent to the waterfall can be steep and challenging, posing potential risks of slips and falls.
