Ross River Paddle

Ross River Paddle - 1 August 2020

Calling all paddlers. Join us for a leisurely cruise up the Ross River. The plan is to launch from Loam Island and paddle upstream for 1-1.5hrs before returning. BYO vessel and gear.

WHEN: Saturday 1 August, ready for a 7:15am departure. We plan to back by 10:30am.

WHERE: Loam Island (BOAT RAMP). There is ample parking here but please park out of the way of cars with boat trailers.

WHAT TO BRING:
A ‘seaworthy’ kayak/canoe + related gear (eg paddle, gloves, PFD if required)
Water + food
Sun protective clothing and hat
Sunscreen, insect repellent
Waterproofing for anything that needs to stay dry
Shoes suitable to get wet for entry/exit
Container to collect rubbish (optional)

FACILITIES: There is a toilet located close by, picnic tables

COST:
Visitors/non members = $5

WHO:
Anyone who would like to come. Beginners welcome if you have access to a kayak/canoe. This is planned to be a social paced paddle to explore some of the river. If you would like a fast paddle please consider if this event is right of you. We will keep together in a rough group.

Must be 18yrs or over to participate.
