Based on the traditional Blue Gum Circuit track walk, but with several short off-track adventures to waterfalls we rarely visit. This time of year the waterfalls and cascades are flowing well so should be spectacular.
Terrain – Steep ascents / descents (including 400 mr ascent on way home). Mostly rough forest track walking, but includes rockhopping on potentially slippery rocks in the creeks, and some off-track bushbashing. The walking includes steep descents / ascents, slippery rocks, trip hazards, tangled vines and jungle, wait-a while, risk of cuts and scratches from jungle vegetation, creek wading, rock hopping, and uneven footings.
Drinking Water – bring water for a full day bushwalking. Refill from creeks is readily available, but the club recommends that water resupply from natural sources is suitably treated before consumption.
Anticipate being back in Paluma village by 1700 (5 pm).
