Rated: 3/4 medium - a little rock hopping and scrambling with some loose and slippery surfaces.
Duration: Half-day walk, 3 hours return II Distance: ~11km return II Elevation gain: ~290m

Description:

This is a medium grade, half-day, cross-country bushwalk on a rough track in Girringun National Park through a mix of woodland and rainforest then creek rock-hopping.
The terrain includes wait-a-while vine, long grass, uneven footings, rock hopping, bush bashing, steep climbs, and some exposed cliffs.
Waterfalls include Euphorion Falls, Ornithoptera Falls, and Birdwing Falls.

Meeting (RSVP REQUIRED):
Madoc will be staying at the Wallaman Falls camping ground the day/afternoon before [which is Fri, the 24th of June] - He is planning to head up to the Wallaman Falls Campground around 1 pm on Friday, the 24th to camp the night.
Anyone who wishes to join Madoc is welcome to do so.
All campers should be self-sufficient. Madoc is happy to give a lift to 2-3 other individuals who wish to join him on Friday.

If you are not camping the night before:
Meet at the public telephone at Wallaman Falls Campground at 9:00 am

For those interested in car-pooling, please be at the Yabulu Caltex dirt car park at 6:30 am. You will need to find each other and organise car-pooling amongst yourselves.
Please leave Townsville by 7:00 am if you want to make it in time. It is a 148 km 2 hr drive to the trailhead near Ingham from Townsville. The roads are sealed and cattle may be on the roads.

Estimate back at the trailhead at 1:00pm, for the 2-hour drive back to Townsville. Arrving at Caltex Yabulu around 3 pm.

If carpooling, please bring a change of clothes in the car and offer the driver some fuel money.

Notes:
The group size is limited to 8 people.
The club recommends that any natural water sources must be suitably treated before consumption.
The fee is $5 for non-members.
You must be over 18 years old to participate.
