Duration: Half-day walk, 6 hours return
Distance: ~11km return
Elevation gain: ~290m
Description:
This is a medium grade, half-day, cross-country bushwalk on a rough track in Girringun National Park through a mix of woodland and rainforest then creek rock-hopping.
The terrain includes wait-a-while vine, long grass, uneven footings, rock hopping, bush bashing, steep climbs, and some exposed cliffs.
Waterfalls include Euphorion Falls, Ornithoptera Falls, and Birdwing Falls.
For those who want a bit extra, we’ll do an optional, relatively short, off-track walk down to the base of Birdwing Falls

Meeting at 6am.
It is a 148 km 2 hr drive to the trailhead near Ingham from Townsville. The roads are sealed and cattle may be on the roads.
Estimate back at the trailhead at midday, for the 2-hour drive back to Townsville. Arriving back in the outskirts of Townsville around 3 pm.
If carpooling, please bring a change of clothes in the car and offer the driver some fuel money.
Notes:
The group size is limited to 8 people.
The club recommends that any natural water sources must be suitably treated before consumption.
The fee is $5 for non-members.
You must be over 18 years old to participate.
