Meeting: 7:00 am. Meeting place will be emailed closer to the time. Start and end location are on private property. Participants joining will be advised the location via email.
Distance: Approximately 15 kms return
Walk Description:
Mount Storth forms part of the Bowling Green Bay Park and reaches a height of 632 meters above sea level. This walk begins on Private property with the initial part winding through a series of creek beds and acts as a nice warm up before the climbing begins!
We will follow the ‘Traditional route’ and reach the summit via the prominent ridge line. Lunch at the top and then descend again.
This walk requires a high level of fitness. There is no track, the grass is very tall and the footing is loose. Those at the front of the walk often have to cut through Passion fruit vine and other shrub.
How long:
Full day walk. Estimate back at the car park around 5 pm.
Speciality equipment: A pair of secateurs will be very useful. A secateur pouch makes carrying your pair easier.
I strongly advise gloves as this walk too. preference). You will need boots with plenty of tread for grip.
