Rated: Hard – rough terrain.

Distance - 8-10 kilometres return
Time - approximately 4-5 hours return
Walk Description:
The club has done this walk several times in the long distant past.
The terrain is tough and the bush bashing hard - expect now the trail has now been recut.
There is a bit of lantana, vines, native ginger, long guinea grass, fallen trees/branches on the rough route. It traverse creeks and small gullies.
The Townsville Bushwalking Club walked from Keelbottom Creek to Bluewater Gorge in 2010. We have also done the Twin Gorges Walk which links up Bluewater Gorge and Patterson Gorge.
How long:
Now it takes half a day since the trail has recently been cut.. Estimate back at the car park around 11am for a 3-5 hour day.
What to bring:
Day pack, food/snacks for the day, water 3 lt minimum (you can refill from creeks - please carry water treatment tablets), long sleeve clothing and good rugged footwear (to protect from sun, scratches, stings, and bites), electrolytes, insect repellent (leeches, mozzies), hat, sunscreen, personal first aid kit (basic), and sunglasses. Also, head torch and whistle.
Must be over 18yrs to participate.
