About this event

SUNDAY 25 October

REGISTRATION WITH THE WALK LEADER IS ESSENTIAL. PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW.

RATED - Hard

DESCRIPTION
This will be a full day, creek based hike. We'll traverse across some rough country. There will be a waterfall rock face to climb up (exposed ledges that some may find challenging) and plenty of rock hopping, boulder scrambles and steep climbs.
This will be a hot but picturesque walk with the opportunity to have a swim to cool off.

We did this walk a few weeks ago at short notice (due to the weather elsewhere) and a few members missed out so we're heading there again. Last time we headed home via Cockatoo Creek but this time we'll take another route.

FITNESS
To be suitable for this walk, a good analogy would be doing a Castle Hill spur, without a track, three times with ease before lunchtime.

WHAT TO BRING
- Water: you will need water for full day eg minimum 4L or refill from the creek (treat or filter is recommended) and electrolytes
- Clothing: long sleeves and long pants/gaiters as we'll be heading through the scrub. Many members also wear fingerless gloves.
- Enclosed and sturdy footwear
- Food for the day
- Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
- Usual bushwalking gear
- Personal first aid kit including a compression bandage and blister kit is recommended.

COST
Non members = $5 walk fee for insurance
Must be over 18years to participate
