ššØšššš¢šØš§: Barron Gorge National Park. We will be car camping at Speewah camping area and walk from Stoney Creek car park to the weir on Friday, from Speewah camping area to Smith trailhead on Saturday and from Stoney Creek trailhead to Wrights Lookout on Sunday.

Rated: 1-5, easy to difficult, from well formed track to uneven terrain, at times unstable, steep and slippery, stairs, creek crossing, rock hopping and scrambling.

š«š¢ššš² ššš¬š ššššØššš«:Drive approx. 380 km (5 hours) from Townsville to Speewah camping area with detour to Stoney Creek for a walk and a dip in the creek.
There will be an optional break from driving for people keen to socialise: meet at 9am in front of the Cardwell pool for a coffee/brunch and walk along the jetty.
Otherwise meet at Stoney Creek carpark at 1pm. Walk an easy 1km to the weir and take some extra time for a dip in the creek.
We will come out of Stoney Creek at 3:00pm, we will leave the car shuttle(s) at Smith trailhead before car pooling and driving the ~30km to Speewah camping area to set up the camp and relax.
ššš² ššš - šššš®š«ššš² ššš§š ššššØššš«:Walk from Speewah camping area trailhead to Smith trailhead. There are two options for this walk: Djina-Wu/Smith tracks (8.25km, 6-7h, easy-difficult) or Djina-Wu/Smith/Yalbogie/Smith tracks (9.8km, 6-7h, easy-difficult). We will find out on Friday which way people are most keen to go. We will aim to leave the camp at 7am so that we can finish the walk by 2pm and drive the ~30km drive back to Speewah camp.
ššš² ššššš - šš®š§ššš² ššš«š ššššØššš«:
Pack up the camp by 7am and drive the 15km from Speewah camping area to Wrights lookout where we're going to leave the car shuttle(s), then we'll drive another ~25km to Stoney Creek trailhead and walk back to Wrights Lookout (7.3km, 4-6h, easy-moderate). We will aim to be at the car shuttle(s) by 2pm, to drive the 26km from Wrights Lookout to Stoney Creek to drop off people back to their cars. We will then head off to Townsville with an approximate ETA of 8pm.

Sufficient food and water for three days (suggesting 3-4 litres of water per day)
Water treatment/filtration system for refilling from creeks
Electrolytes, if needed
Sleeping system (e.g., tent, bag, mat, clothes, etc)
Wood for campfire
Sunscreen, hat, & sun-protective clothing - long-sleeve clothing
Insect and leech repellent (recommending Mosiguard which is both natural and efficient)
Shoes appropriate for walking on uneven surfaces
Dry clothes and footwear for after the walk and carpooling
Headlight

Any medication you require
First aid kit/snake bite kit & PLB if available

Notes:
The group size is limited to 15 people. Because we need to organise car shuttles at the end of the trail for both walks on Saturday and Sunday, please let us know how many people are in your car and if you're willing to use it as a shuttle.
The club recommends that any natural water sources must be suitably treated before consumption.
The fee is $5 for non-members.
You must be over 18 years old to participate.
