Cloudy Creek Circuit [but not the way you know it]

Location: Cloudy Creek circuit, Paluma National Park.
Meeting place and time:
Starts at the Big Crystal creek rockslides carpark, a.k.a The mango tree. Meet at the rockslides carpark at 8.30am.
Return to TSV: approx. 5pm.
Rated: 4 medium/hard – must be comfortable with rock hopping (~3hrs) and capable of moderate level scrambling in exposed positions. Some off-track walking, but limited scrub-bashing.
Not a beginner level walk.
Duration: Full to Half-day walk, approx. 6 hours return (includes breaks)
Distance: ~12 km return
Elevation gain: ~300m
Description:
This is a medium grade day walk up a tributary of Big Crystal Creek. There is some road walking, rock hopping up creeks, then track/road walking to return to the car. There will be good opportunities to swim and relax beside the creek as well as some lovely view points and waterfalls. The creek walking is predominately through rainforest. The terrain includes wait-a-while vine, long grass, uneven footings, rock hopping, a little bit of bush bashing, steep climbs, and exposed cliffs.
This is a dry weather walk. If it is raining or likely to rain then the walk will be changed to an alternative medium/hard day walk that is more suited to the conditions.

What to Bring
-Water: 3 litres recommended. Please bring purification tablets if intending to refill at creeks.
-Electrolytes if needed [ we would recommend it - as the intense summer heat is upon us]
-Sunscreen & hat, Sun Safe clothing
-Insect repellent.
-Lunch and trail snacks
-Camera
-Shoes appropriate for walking on rocky, uneven surfaces and in water
-Dry clothes and maybe thongs for after the walk
-First aid kit with snake bandage
-Secateurs - to help with track maintenance as we walk [optional]
-PLB/GPS - we will have one, but it would always help to have another.
