Crystal Creek Falls, Endeavour Falls & DCK Hut circuit rainforest walk, Paluma

Rated – Medium : Full day walk - majority is rainforest track walking, small amount of off-track. Some moderate hills.
Length – approx 20 km.
Location – Paluma Dam / Mt Spec environs, based on upper Crystal Creek.
Features – Crystal Creek Falls, one of the best swimming pools anywhere, Junction Falls (Spa Pool),
Johnstone’s Clearing, DCK Hut and upper Crystal Creek, and rainforest track walking.
Walking Terrain – rough bush tracks, uneven footings, loose rocks, tree roots, creek crossings (slippery rocks), small amount of bush bashing (500 mr), some moderate hills to climb. Potential for leeches.
Walk starts from Paluma Dam and is a circuit walk via Crystal Creek Falls, Johnstone’s Clearing, and DCK Hut.
Meet Time and location – 0630 for car pooling location TBA. Aim for walk start no later than 0815. Details will be emailed to registered (RSVP) and approved participants.
Aim to be back at cars at the dam car park by 5 pm. Back in Townsville around 7 pm.
If car pooling, please bring change of clothes and spare towel for the travel in someone else’s car.
Also, a small contribution to the driver for fuel / running cost is appreciated – club recommends $5 per pax to help with fuel.
