SUNDAY 22 November
REGISTRATION WITH THE WALK LEADER IS ESSENTIAL. PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW.
RATED: Hard - creek based rock hopping bushwalking
DESCRIPTION
We'll start from Paluma village and traverse down Cloudy Creek to about halfway down the mountain range. That means a steep climb after lunch back to the village (approx 400 mr elevation climb back up the creek).
There will be steep rock faces (some with exposed ledges), rockhopping, uneven footing, and the potential for slippery rocks.
FITNESS
To be suitable for this walk, a good analogy would be doing a Castle Hill spur, without a track, three times with ease before lunchtime. You will need to be fit and agile with good balance.
WHAT TO BRING
- Water: you will need water for full day eg minimum 4L (refill from the creek is not recommended on this walk).
- Clothing: long sleeve clothing/gaiters is recommended for sun protection and to protect from scratches. Many members also wear fingerless gloves.
- Enclosed footwear
- Food for the day
- Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
- Usual bushwalking gear
- Personal first aid kit including a compression bandage and blister kit is recommended.
- Swimming gear
COST
Non members = $5 walk fee
Must be over 18years to participate
