Castle Hill family scramble walk (CANCELLED)

Ryan will be leading a family-focused Castle Hill adventure for kids and parents keen to explore some of the hill's more interesting walking lines.

The planned route will likely head up via the Crack Track and return down the Ladies Track, giving the group a fun loop with a mix of steep walking, rocky terrain, scrambling, and great views over Townsville. The Crack Track is one of Castle Hill's more adventurous routes, with some hands-on sections and uneven footing, while the Ladies Track provides a more established and smoother descent.

This walk is intended as an introduction to adventurous bushwalking for families, rather than a fast-paced fitness hike. Kids aged 12 and over are welcome, but they must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. See our Child Protection and Risk Management Policy linked below. Participants should be comfortable walking on steep, rough, and rocky ground, and children should be confident moving over uneven terrain.

Bring
* At least 1 L of water per person
* Sturdy walking shoes with good grip
* Hat and sun protection
* A small snack
* Basic first aid

This walk is best suited to active kids and parents who are comfortable with short, steep climbs and a bit of scrambling. It may not be suitable for very young children, beginners with no bushwalking experience, or anyone uncomfortable with heights, loose rock, or uneven ground.

Visitors: $5 per walk. After completing three club walks, you are welcome to join as a member.
