Waterfall Creek
This is full day bushwalk to Waterfall Creek's top section and it is spectacular! The old-timers called this creek ‘one hundred waterfalls in a day’.
Leader: Wilfred Karnoll.
Rated: Hard – creek-based off-track, rough terrain, steep climbs.
Walk Description:
The first two hours are track walking, then the next 4 to 5 hours is a creek-based rock hop, followed by the last two hours back on track. The terrain includes uneven footings, rock hopping, scrambling, bush bashing, steep climbs, and some exposed ledges. The return journey is the same route but uphill all the way, with steep climbing in parts (especially straight after lunch). In some areas, there will be tangled vines and wait-a-while. Great views from the waterfall lookout. There will be good swimming opportunities.
How long:
Full day walk. Estimate back around 5 pm, for the car shuttle and drive back to Townsville.
What to bring:
Day pack, food/snacks for the day, water 2 lt minimum (refill from creeks- please carry water treatment tablets otherwise carry more water), long sleeve clothing and good rugged footwear (to protect from sun, scratches, stings, and bites), electrolytes, insect repellent (leeches, mozzies), hat, sunscreen, personal first aid kit (basic), and sunglasses. Also, head torch and whistle.
Must be over 18yrs to participate.

It's up to the walk leader to accept your walk registration. Club members are given priority at the leader's discretion.
Once accepted, the walk leader will say where to meet.
