3 = Fitness: Moderate - suitable for active walkers
Easy to moderate, mostly formed tracks, beach sections, soft sand, minor uneven ground, and very little elevation gain.

Walk type: Loop, with some beach walking
Join Amanda this Saturday morning for a relaxed coastal walk through the Cape Pallarenda and Townsville Town Common trail network, taking in the Shelly Cove / Shelly Beach area.
This walk follows a mix of formed tracks, coastal woodland, open country, and beach sections, with views across Cleveland Bay and towards Magnetic Island. Along the way, the group may pass WWII-era features, coastal scrub, mangroves, seasonal wetlands, and quieter sections of the shoreline.
The route is relatively flat, with only minor elevation gain, but walkers should still be prepared for soft sand, exposed sections, uneven surfaces, and warm conditions. Some of the tracks are shared with mountain bike riders, so please stay alert and give way where needed.
Please bring water, sun protection, insect repellent, suitable footwear, and snacks. As this walk includes coastal areas, please also be croc-wise and avoid entering the water.
