REGISTRATION WITH THE WALK LEADER IS ESSENTIAL. PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW.
RATED: Medium - some creek crossings and steep hills (300m climb).
DESCRIPTION
We will head out along the tracks to see the beautiful Crystal and Gold Creek Falls. This will be a 20 km rainforest track walk. Tracks have some uneven footing including tree roots and rocks and there will be some steep hills along the route (300m elevation gain on the way home). There are creeks to cross that involve rockhopping with potential slippery rocks. We will head out and back via the same route.
WHAT TO BRING
- Water: you will need water for full day eg minimum 4L (or 2L and refill from the creeks - treating the water is recommended)
- Clothing: there is a lot of long grass and scrub so full long sleeve clothing is recommended. Many members also wear fingerless gloves.
- Enclosed footwear
- Food for the day
- Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
- Usual bushwalking gear
- Personal first aid kit including a compression bandage and blister kit is recommended.
- Swimming gear

Non members = $5 walk fee for insurance
Must be over 18years to participate

WALK DETAILS
Meet time: 0830 at Paluma Dam car park (the outside car park)
Return time: Back at cars by 4:30pm due to Mt Spec Rd closure at 6pm

On some activities, walker numbers may be limited to promote the safety and enjoyment of all, due to location size and ability to socially distance or to reduce our environmental impact at some locations.
COVID-19
Please do not attend if you are unwell, have symptoms or meet condition imposed by Qld Health. Social distancing and self managed hygiene practices are strongly encouraged, and the club will not be organising car pooling opportunities at present. The club is cognisant of the QORF COVID SAFE PLAN for Outdoor Recreation Providers. On some walks, as noted above, numbers may be limited.
