Paradise Beach clean-up day walk with Ocean Crusaders

Join the Townsville Bushwalking Club for a special day walk to Paradise Beach, combining a remote coastal walk with a practical beach clean-up in support of Ocean Crusaders.

This day-walk option is for members and visitors who would like to help with the Paradise Beach clean-up but do not want to stay overnight. Cherry will lead the day-walk group in on Saturday morning to meet up with Brent's overnight group at Paradise Beach. The combined group will help fill rubbish bags during the day, then Cherry will lead the day walkers back out the same afternoon.

Ocean Crusaders will be coming through Townsville in June and July as part of their clean-up efforts, and rubbish bags will be dropped off in advance. Brent and Kylie have helped organise the removal of rubbish from Paradise Beach, with the collected bags to be picked up early on Sunday morning.

Participants should be prepared for a full day out in a remote coastal area, including walking to and from Paradise Beach, working on the beach clean-up, and carrying personal food, water, and gear. Please bring work or gardening gloves, sturdy footwear, sun protection, plenty of water, lunch and snacks, and clothing suitable for beach work. Rubbish bags will be provided, but participants should take care around sharp, rusty, or hazardous objects and follow the leaders' instructions during the clean-up.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy one of our special coastal places while giving something back to the environment and supporting the work of Ocean Crusaders.

Please note: There will also be an overnight option led by Brent for those who would like to camp at Paradise Beach on Saturday night and help prepare the collected rubbish for pick-up on Sunday morning. Please mention when you RSVP whether you are interested in the day walk with Cherry or the overnighter with Brent.

Townsville Bushwalking Club members: Free
Visitors: $5 per walk. After completing three club walks, you are welcome to join as a member.
